The Board of Directors of the Fruit and Vegetable Dispute Resolution Corporation (DRC) appoints a new Chair and Vice-Chair.

The DRC held a successful AGM in Whistler, BC, on June 1st, 2023, which included a momentous announcement. Two of the most distinguished and influential fresh produce industry leaders, Glenn Baty, former Chair, and Matt McInerney, former Vice-Chair, ended their term with the DRC Board of Directors.

Glenn and Mat joined the DRC as early architects when the DRC was conceptualized in 1998. Luc Mougeot, President & CEO of the DRC, expressed gratitude for their passion, dedication, and caring leadership, which was instrumental to the creation and growth of the DRC. Glenn and Matt leave behind a legacy of collaboration, innovation and respect that will continue to guide the DRC for years to come.

Bret Erickson, from J&D Produce and a long-time DRC Board member, was appointed as the new Chair of the DRC Board of Directors. George Pitsikoulis, from Canadawide Fruit Wholesalers, has been appointed to one of the two Vice-Chair positions.

Glenn presented his 2022 Chair report thanking and recognizing current DRC staff and Board members as well as those influential in the creation of the DRC.

Kevin Smith, DRC’s Secretary and Treasurer, presented his report and financial overview.

Jaime Bustamante presented a modification to the trading standards. The addition of a definition of “commercial unit” was approved.

Luc and Glenn concluded by thanking the members, directors, and DRC staff for their participation in the meeting.
