About

Founded in 2000, The Fruit and Vegetable Dispute Resolution Corporation (DRC) is a non-profit, membership-based organization serving the produce trade. DRC provides harmonized standards, procedures and services to help members avoid commercial disputes, as well as consultation, mediation and arbitration services when disputes arise.

The DRC provides harmonized standards, procedures and services to our members. We help them avoid commercial disputes, and offer education, mediation, and arbitration when necessary. We deal with all types of disputes, including condition, contract and payment issues. The DRC can help with disputes that arise between members domestically or internationally.

We work closely with industry associations and governments on behalf of our members to reform legislation, make federal inspections more accessible, develop best practices, and level the playing field for participants.

Most recently, the DRC has assumed a key role in helping the Canadian and U.S. Governments create financial risk mitigation tools to address slow pay and no pay issues in Canada.

Though dispute resolution is certainly a big part of what we do; we have many members who join simply because they view membership as an investment in improving their industry. If you would like to learn more about current initiatives please contact the DRC Help Desk.
